On March 8, 2017, the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization (DCHC MPO) Board released the draft FY2018-27 State Transportation Improvement Plan (STIP) for public comment (see the attached draft STIP). A public hearing on the draft STIP will be held during the DCHC MPO Board meeting on April 12, 2017, at 9:00 am in the second floor committee room of Durham City Hall.
The draft STIP was released by the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) on December 22, 2016 for public review. The draft STIP identifies which projects NCDOT would spend its money on during the ten year period from 2018-2027. The draft STIP released by the DCHC MPO Board identifies those projects that are within the geographic area for the DCHC MPO, which includes all of Durham County (which includes the City of Durham), the towns of Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Hillsborough, as well as a substantial portion of Orange County, and the northeastern corner of Chatham County.
Members of the public are encouraged and welcome to make comment on the draft STIP at the public hearing. If you cannot attend the public hearing, you can submit comments or questions to Aaron Cain of the DCHC MPO at email@example.com or (919) 560-4366 x36443.
