Triangle Travel Survey Underway This Spring
The North Carolina Department of Transportation, GoTriangle, the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO), and the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization (DCHC-MPO) have launched an important survey of how people travel across the Triangle region.
This survey – administered by the Institute for Transportation Research and Education at NC State University (ITRE) every two years since 2016 – will help the agencies better understand local travel needs and identify transportation priorities for the region. This data is especially critical as COVID-19 continues to influence typical travel patterns.
Thousands of households across Durham, Orange, Wake, and portions of Chatham, Franklin, Granville, Harnett, Johnston, Nash, and Person counties are expected to participate from February – March of this year. Randomly selected households will be invited to participate by mailed invitation to ensure that travel behaviors across the region are accurately represented.
Invited households have the option to complete the survey online, by phone, or through a smartphone app developed by the project consultants, RSG.
Your input matters! We want to hear from you even if your typical travel has changed due to COVID-19. If invited, please participate and do your part in helping our region.
