Safe Streets for All Stakeholder Forum

Please join us for a stakeholder forum to learn more about and help shape the scope for the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro (DCHC) Safe Streets for All/Vision Zero Action Plan. This hybrid meeting will take place at 11am on Wednesday, 7/26, immediately following the MPO Technical Committee meeting in the 2nd Floor Committee room in Durham City Hall and via Zoom.

 

Details

Who: Community stakeholders and people interested in improving the safety of the streets in the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro MPO area.

What: Learn more about the Safe Streets for All/Vision Zero Action Plan that the MPO will be undertaking and help shape the scope of this important project prior to the development of the plan.

When: Wednesday, July 26 at 11am

Why: It is important that the Safe Streets for All/Vision Zero Action Plan be equitable and meet the needs of our diverse community. The MPO is working with Atkins to develop the scope for this planning effort, and we are in the process of preparing a draft. We hope you will attend and share your ideas for what this plan will include.

About the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization

The DCHC MPO is responsible for planning and programming state and federal transportation projects in all of Durham County and the urbanized areas of Orange County and Chatham County.  To learn more, follow the DCHC MPO Facebook and Twitter pages to stay up-to-date on news about their transportation planning efforts.

About Safe Streets for All and Vision Zero

Safe Streets for All (SS4A) is a federal grant program through the US Department of Transportation that funds regional, local, and tribal initiatives to prevent roadway deaths and serious injuries. Read more here.

The SS4A program is aligned with Vision Zero, which is a collaborative partnership (including NC Department of Transportation) that works to eliminate fatal and serious injuries caused by crashes on all roadways. Read more about NC Vision Zero here.

Within the DCHC MPO area, the Town of Chapel Hill and City of Durham are each working toward Vision Zero.
