The MPO identifies roadway, transit and other transportation improvements in their long-range plans. As the highway projects move forward, the NC Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is largely responsible for the feasibility study, environmental study, final design and construction phases. Projects that have been completed, i.e., constructed and in operational use, in the last few years are listed below. The user can find additional information on these projects, such as public input information and maps, by doing an internet search on the roadway name and the unique NCDOT identification number. Thus, a search using “hillandale U-3308” will yield substantial useful information from the MPO, NCDOT and possibly local media outlets and community organizations.
