The DCHC MPO adopted the Triangle Strategic Tolling Study on October 9, 2019. The Tolling Study explores toll and express lanes for the region, identifies potential toll projects for inclusion in the long-range plans, and creates a framework for the MPO to discuss and evaluate toll projects. If the region pursues the construction of toll lanes, a much more in-depth, comprehensive study would be completed on that particular toll project and would produce detailed data and identify key design and policy decisions.
