The DCHC MPO is responsible for developing and adopting long- and mid-range transportation plans, and working with the local and state government organizations, such as the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), that are responsible for the environmental study, funding, design and construction of roadways. Although the responsibilities for our roadway network reside among several agencies, the MPO staff have a good knowledge of the current status of roadway improvements.
