The MPO Board (formerly called the Transportation Advisory Committee) is the policy body which coordinates and makes decisions on transportation planning issues.
The MPO Board is comprised of elected and appointed officials from the City of Durham, the Town of Chapel Hill, the Town of Carrboro, the Town of Hillsborough, Durham County, Orange County, Chatham County, Triangle Transit, and the North Carolina Department of Transportation. The MPO Board also has advisory (non-voting) members from the Federal Highway Administration, the Federal Transit Administration, and other local, state, or federal agencies impacting transportation (by invitation of the MPO Board).
The MPO Board is governed by a set of Bylaws, revised August 13, 2014.
Meetings of the MPO Board are normally scheduled for the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Central Pines Regional Council at 9:00 a.m. There is typically no meeting in July and December. Some meetings may be held in the evening to facilitate participation in public hearings. Check the calendar for upcoming meeting dates.
