The MPO participated in the development and design of the Alston Avenue widening from NC 147 (Durham Freeway) to NC 98 (Holloway Street). As of fall 2014, the project is in right-of-way acquisition and is scheduled to be let (i.e., a construction contract awarded to a firm) in April 2015. The TIP identity number for this project is U-3308. An Internet search of “alston u-3308” will provide additional sources of information including public meeting materials.
